Exploring Whitney State Forest

Canceled due to ongoing logging at Whitney State Forest.

On a stroll through the woods learn about the essential benefits forests contribute to our health and the health of the planet.  Also, develop understanding of what Forest management is and why it is important for biodiversity. Finally, you will have a chance to become familiar with Virginia trees, native plants and invasive species.

The hike is moderate with hills, stream crossings and sunny spots. Please wear suitable clothing, bring sunscreen, bug spray and water. There are no rest areas or bathrooms available.

Parking at Whitney State Forest is limited, please consider car pooling.
