Native Plant Identification Walk

  • C. M. Crockett Park 10066 Rogues Road Midland, VA, 22728 United States (map)

Extension Master Gardeners and Audubon at Home volunteers will lead a walk to identify what is in bloom and growing in the woods at C. M. Crockett Park.

Learn to identify both native plants that support our ecosystem and some of the invasive plants threatening their survival. Find out why natives are so important to supporting our birds, butterflies, native bees and other insects, and how planting them on your property can help our local ecosystem thrive.

We will walk at a leisurely pace and show you some of the best the park has to offer. Be prepared for the weather and for walking on mixed terrain of flat, hilly, muddy or rocky conditions.

Meet at the kiosk in the parking lot. We will depart promptly at 10am. Please arrive early to allow time to apply sunscreen, tick spray, hiking boots as needed.

This event will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

This event is free. Attendance is limited. Please register:
